Notes/Comments
Part of claim is for hogs taken in 1814-1815 by US Troops during the Creek War - I then lived with my mother (father was dead - his name was Ku-nos-he-skie or John Watts) I was then about 14 or 15. Our house was on the road from Ross Landing to Fort Armstrong about 12 mi from Fort. Then moved to abt 5 mi from the Fort - stayed there till emigrated. Part of claim is for cattle taken by a white man (Guthrie Moore) in 1820. I was still unmarried and living with mother. Emigrated with my family (total of 7). My mother died in this country - she never remarried. My husband (Isaac) Vann started to this country in spring of 1833 to make a crop - supposed to go to Bill Childers to change a $100 note - husband didn't show - to avoid officers that were after him. Ned Vann (husband brother) went with me to Creek Path. They took me and my husbands uncle Mr. Hughes for my husbands debts. I lent Jim Childers horses to come to this country. I have no brothers or sisters living now. I was married before to Mr. Thompson. He went home to his wife in Augusta GA. I had no children by him. My father was a half breed, mother was full blood. Ned Vann & Hughes attended court for me to get my horses back.
