Personally came before me Elk the claimant of the Cherokee Nation East and solemnly affirmed that the above is a just account of the property against the United States which was taken from him about three years ago in said Dist by two white men citizens of the United States by the name of Edward Edwards and James Willson and claimant further affirms that the before mentioned time he loaned the above described stud horse to said Edwards and that he often applied to Edwards for his horse and never could get him from Edwards and claimant further affirms that the said James Willson about four years ago took his gun the above described from him by force and continued to retain it and has never has returned said gun to him and claimant further affirms that he believes the above is a reasonable price for his property and that he has never received any value for the same

Personally came before me Rotten Man and Tar-lon–tu-skee of the Cherokee Nation East as witnesses in the above case and solemnly affirmed that the white man citizen of the United States by the name of Edward Edwards took the above described horse from Elk by force about 3 years ago and that said Edwards though often appealed to would never deliver up the horse to his owner said Elk and that said Edwards made away with the horse and witnesses further states that a whiteman by the name of James Williams about four years ago took from claimant by force a rifle gun and supposed to be worth fifteen dollars and that said William would not deliver said gun up to claimant and that said Willson continued and still continues to retain said gun from claimant and he never (illegible) said gun from claimant and he never returned said gun to claimant as yet and that claimant has never received any value for the same
