To Cul-cah-cah-lah-ske (of Hickory Log District)

“ 1 Cow 1 Steer 10 head of hogs 16 head of hogs | 255.00

Personally came before me Cul-cah-cah-lah-ske of the Cherokee Nation east and solemnly affirmed that the above is a just account of property stolen by white men citizens of the United States.The foregoing described two cows was stolen by a white man named William Lay down in Hickory Log District about 4 years ago. Claimant states he saw the above described hogs in the possession of said Lay stole them. The next described was 10 head of hogs stolen by one Baily a white man down in Hickory Log District about 4 years ago. Claimant states he saw the above described hogs in the possession of said Baily 5 days after they taken(?) The next described was 16 head of hogs stolen by a white man named Henry Vickory down on the Chattahoochee river about [no number] years ago. Claimant states he did not see the hogs in said Vickory’s possession but has good reasons for believing he stole them. That the price is reasonable and that he has had no pay for the same.

Personally came before me James Tar-noo-nah and Nelson Stop of the Cherokee Nation East and solemnly affirmed that they saw the above described 2 cows in the possession of said Lay a white man and knew them to be the same alluded to above also saw the claimant in a short time after and told him he replied that his cows had been stolen from him and that he knew that said Lay had stolen them. The price is reasonable and that claimant has had no pay for the same to the best of their knowledge & belief.

Personally came before me Nelson Stop and Tarluskee of the Cherokee Nation East and solemnly affirmed that the above described 10 head of hogs in the possession of a white man named Baily 5 days after they was stolen. They further say them and the claimant was in company when they saw them in the possession of said Baily. They further say the price is reasonable and that claimant has had no pay for the same to the best of their knowledge & belief.

Personally came before me James Downing and Caty Downing of the Cherokee Nation East and solemnly affirmed that they was(?) well acquainted with claimant and his property and that they saw a white man near told them that he saw the said Vickory have(?) in his possession the 16 head of hogs alluded to above. They further say the price is reasonable and that claimant has had no pay for the same to the best of their knowledge and belief.
